"Behold
a present……to which were in Yatir"
(Shmuel I, 30, 26-27)
|
| Yatir, once a city
of Cohanim in the Judean settlement during the era of Yehoshua Ben
Nun, sits on the edge of the desert overlooking the Judean Negev.
Today, Yatir is an agricultural settlement whose livelihood is based
on vineyards and various branches of agriculture in an arid region. |

The Mechina Kdam Tzvait Yeshivatit
(Premilitary Prepatory Yeshiva) in Yatir prepares youth for a meaningful
service in Zahal (I.D.F.) by deepening their Jewish identity and
fortifying their character in order to enhance their sense of responsibility
and leadership.
Our graduates serve in the army as soldiers and officers in combat
units as well as in career service. |
The staff at the Mechina is highly
devoted to preparing our students spiritually, mentally, and physically
for their complex army duty. They continue to guide them and act
as a spiritual home front during their years of service in the army. |
|
 |
With great sorrow, the Mechina
has suffered the loss of ten of its graduates who have fallen during
their army service. However, we must continue forward with the same
courage and humility as King David's, in whose regions we study,
tour, and settle. |
